Cooking frozen salmon in the air fryer has been done before, but not like this vibrant air fryer frozen salmon recipe! It’s one of those easy air fryer recipes that tastes like something from a restaurant.
INGREDIENTS
1 pound of salmon
1/4 teaspoon saffron
juice of 1 lemon
a couple pinches salt
fresh cracked pepper
2 teaspoons garlic powder,
1-2 teaspoon dried dill
1/3 cup of a thick Greek yogurt
1 to 2 teaspoons fresh finely chopped dill
1 to 2 teaspoons finely chopped capers
1 minced garlic clove
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat your air fryer to 360°F.
Add the two frozen salmon filets skin side up and cook for 5 minutes. Flip, and cook another 3-4 minutes if still partially frozen.
While the salmon cooks, mix the saffron in warm water. Then add the lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried dill. Brush this onto your salmon after the first 5 minutes of cook time.
Bump temperature to 400°F and cook another 5-8 minutes or until done to your liking.
Then add the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, salt, pepper, dill, capers, and garlic to a small bowl, giving it a good mix. Give it a taste, and adjust it to your liking. If you want it thicker, add more yogurt. If you want it more liquidy or lemony, add more lemon, and be sure there is enough salt!
Top the salmon with the lemony dill/caper yogurt sauce, or create a bowl (optional). Enjoy!
NOTES
Store any leftover salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
To reheat, place salmon skin-side down in an air fryer set at 360°F. Cook it for about 5 minutes or until the salmon has warmed through.
